Default The Other Blessings

Maybe this is just me, but I like the Raven Blessing more than the Bear one.

Rather than seeing the Bear Blessing getting nerfed as countless people have expressed, do you think something will be done to the Raven or Volfen Blessings?

I'd either would want Ursan balanced or every single other skill in Guild Wars buffed.

I would too. But PVP would die.

Personally I love raven blessing. Not getting KD'ed is key.

Pvp and PvE skill being linked is the problem, thats why PvE skills are supposed to be powerful to compensate PvE'ers for all the nerfs.

That's really terrible logic.

Just the PvE skills.

This way, there would be no PvP imbalance.

Compensate? "All the nerfs?"

PvP-related nerfs were boon for PvE as they prevented all kinds of power creep for two years (until PvE only stuff became widespread.).

(Yes, my "feature list" for perfect MMO includes strong PvP ballancing which does affect PvE mercilessly. Not that i would ever play PvP, but i like effects it has on PvE.)

Nerfs are good, keeps people on their toes. Nobody would be playing anymore if IWAY was still the META would they?

Same thing goes for PvE. Running the same style build for 3 years would have been a snorefest.

Ursan is a pretty shitty way to play, but if people want to play GW in such a dumb way let them.

No. But the main problem with raven blessing is: Only Raven Swoop will give you energy.
raven talons is not doing damage -> you get 0 energy back
raven shriek -> you get 0 energy
raven flight -> you get 0 energy

Then buff everything else, as well. Anything to get people to consider running something besides Ursan Blessing. I wasn't entirely serious with my suggestion, but you see my point.

The PvP balancing was what kept PvE somewhat interesting. The people complaining about "pve skills being nerfed due to pvp" were the professional farmers, whose idea of ideal PvE would be a "kill everything in the zone, collect loot, and map to merchant" button.

All the norn forms, in fact most of the PvE skills, are cheesy, but Ursan is the worst because it has no drawback at all, and simply gets more powerful the more ursans there are in the team.

Just today I started out on the Here And Now quest in hardmode, H&H'ing it with Raven blessing... and after the first mobs I mapped back and swapped Raven out for Eviscerate. I just couldn't stand the cheese of it. Plus it's boring to play.

No, because the other two suck too much already.

It's exactly the same with Ursan. It doesn't matter as you also get energy when taking damage, or doing normal attacks. Slap on a zealous weapon and you're not likely to ever run out of energy. All you have to do is just rush mindlessly between mobs and cycle skills as they recharge.

Oh, and Raven and Volfen do not suck. They just don't have the AoE knockdown of Ursan, which is what makes Ursan so uber (because if there's more than 3 ursans in the team, the enemy spends the fight perma-knockdowned and incapable of doing any real damage). If you're h/h'ing raven is often better than ursan due to AoE blind.

Why would you want that? PvE is already freaking easy without ANY pve only skills like ursan or anything else..

I cant see buffing the other two to the level of Ursan, that just compounds the problem. Ursan should have been nerfed and the other two buffed some. I use past tense because its quite obvious that now after all this time Anet has no intention of nerfing Ursan. Defies logic and flies in the face of all the other balancing they had tried to do in the past, but so be it.

Ursan lets people be a tank and a nuker in one, thus filling 2/3 of the holy trinity. Neither of the other 2 blessings are as spikey as Ursan. If Ursan Strike was affected by Armour then each blessing would be more closesly balanced.

Also, that area knock-down is extremely effective on so many levels, as is the area weakness spam.

Raven's blocking is nice but Aegis chaining and other blocking techniques on your backline do that job pretty well. I reckon that you are as well to devote all of your energies in to killing stuff or keeping stuff alive in PvE.

Then I don't see the need for it to be easier.

I have used the raven blessing twice while vanquishing just so i could take my warriors pet raven with me and lvl it to 20. Was a nice change of pace running something with a theme but got boring fast, i find it more fun to use a proper skillbar...although raven blessings skill sounds are awesome

Personally i think the blessings should have been implemented with a full 8 skillbar that is less uber damage and more relying on effects like the bmp skillbars but without the single player overpoweredness. Have the raven rely on evasion to trigger skills, volven to deal more with effects working on foes under deep wound and ursan...well, guess KDs could be added after dropping the rediculous damage.

And as a final thing make the primary damage skills martial atks that only work if your holding no weapon (i.e. barefist attacks ).
